Foxfire Real Estate/Foxfire NC Real Estate

Foxfire Village, located on one of the highest points in Moore County, is a modern golfing and resort community where 490 full time residents enjoy the Sandhills lifestyle to the fullest on 2,200 manicured acres. Foxfire Village, which offers exceptional real estate investment opportunities within the incorporated limits, is surrounded by lush farmland and longleaf pine woods.

A golf community for nearly 40 years, Foxfire is rapidly gaining stature as a prominent equestrian center, with several new equestrian communities now established in the area. Foxfire is located 5 miles southwest of the Village of Pinehurst.

History of Foxfire Village

Foxfire Village is an area about five miles west of Pinehurst. The early settlers called this area Piney Bottom. Foxfire was said to have been the site of a small battle during the American Revolution. Two hundred years later a new group of invaders attacked Piney Bottom. This new group of invaders cleared the trees, built home and planted pastures on which they would play a Scottish game.

The early settlers made their living by selling turpentine and construction timbers. The railroad ran from Aberdeen through the boundaries of modern Foxfire. In the 20th century agriculture thrived offering large crops of cotton, tobacco, corn and rye. Peach orchards and vineyards were plentiful also.

In 1967, Foxfire developed into a resort and residential community. After ten years of growth, Foxfire was incorporated as a Village.

Being a newer town in Moore County, Foxfire's tradition of being a pleasant, scenic and resort golf community continues today. Foxfire formed from an old 2,200 acre farm under the protection of Roland McKenzie and his partner, Dan Tomlinson.
